In recent seasons, I have had the privilege of performing benefit concerts as part of community outreach. Our piano trio created residencies in Title One Schools in rural communities across North America that included master-classes, Inter-disciplinary lectures, and K-12 performances and workshops.
I was recently overwhelmed by some heartfelt mail from fans and concertgoers from the younger generation, and I was so incredibly touched to have children hand me pieces of artwork after my performances. It is always refreshing to observe the innocence of a child, and how their drawings reflect their inner world.
I am starting this new series entitled Young at HeART as a reminder to other artists how much of a role model we are for tomorrow's future generation, and how much their intelligence, creativeness, and personality inspires us. Their drawings unmistakably have visual values, content and a meaning by themselves. I hope that you will enjoy them as much as I have!
If you wish to have your artwork featured on this site, please email it to me at: christinemari ( at ) christineyoshikawa ( dot ) com , or hand it to me in person after my concert. And, don't forget to include your name, age, and city of residence. Thank you!
